From the desk of the President, 2007
Dear Membership and
Interested Individuals:
Greetings everyone! I hope
you are all having an excellent year. I am
happy to report that the Georgia ACHMM
Chapter is having another successful year!
At the recent National ACHMM Conference in
Washington, DC, the GA ACHMM Chapter
received a total of six awards! Our chapter
was honored with the Honor Roll of Champions
Award, and five of our chapter members were
recognized as Champions of Excellence.
Congratulations to Keith Cole, Brian Cook,
Tara McCullen, Michael Verdon, and David
Wheeler! Thank you for your commitment to
ACHMM and for making the Georgia Chapter a
leader among all chapters nationally!
I am also pleased to announce
that we have added a new Scholarship
Subcommittee under the Outreach Committee.
The purpose of this committee will be to
help us set up and manage a scholarship
sponsored by GA ACHMM that will be awarded
to a college student in the State of Georgia
pursuing studies in the field of
environmental, health, and safety. If you
would like more information, or you would
like to participate on this subcommittee,
please contact Scholarship Subcommittee
Chair, Tom Harper, or Outreach Committee
Chair, Keith Cole.
I am excited about the
remainder of 2007, as we still have a number
of great events planned. Our annual CHMM
review course is scheduled to be held
October 30 – November 2 at Kennesaw State
University. Please remind your colleagues
who are interested in gaining the CHMM
credential! Also, our annual HAZWOPER
refresher is being planned for December.
Stay tuned for more details. Our
End-of-the-Year Social promises to take the
year out with a bang, as always! We are
planning a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament; we
hope that you and your spouse or guest will
be able to join us for some fun competition
and socializing among friends.
Warmest Regards,
Tara McCullen
GA ACHMM President
